I am an Indian living in the USA for over 15+ years and currently a Bay-Area (California) resident.
My introduction to photography was helping my Dad set up his Yashica-A TLR for our family pictures. As a kid, holding the camera made me feel special since my father trusted me to take care of it, and it was love at first sight. This love has only grown with time. While my Dad is no longer with me, his gift of photography is with me forever.
My photographic journey includes experimenting with multiple film-based cameras over the years and going digital in 2001 with a Sony point > shoot. I have been invested with Nikon camera bodies/lenses for over a decade now.
While I enjoyed and loved photography, it wasnât until 2004 that I became deeply passionate about it.
I started visiting America's national parks and attempted to capture natureâs glory to share with family back in India. This was my way to capture the moment and share my experiences with them. Since then, I have been juggling between a career in management consulting and my first true love: Photography.
Capturing life and its moments through my lens has taught me more than just to create colorful pictures. It has taught me to be more insightful, patient, detail-oriented, and see through the small fleeting seconds to snatch and freeze a glorious moment forever. Into that moment, I then pour my creative expression and make an effort to recreate the same magic for my viewers as vividly as possible.
My goal is to capture the magnanimity of Nature's essence in each of my clicks. Be it the mountains, galaxies, or the sheer pride of human architecture, each has its aesthetics and a story to tell. I try to and hope that my photographs express that story.
Traveling and exploring > experiencing new places, people, and culture in the pursuit of yet another soulful moment worth capturing, keeps me going.
When I am not out and about clicking away, I am either immersed in confabulations on alien invasion or experimenting with some new culinary pleasure to satiate my taste buds.
